Real wedding: Rehana and Bradley

Rehana & Bradley

Rehana and Bradley, now Basheer, joined their paths together in a beautiful Muslim ceremony at Nooitgedacht in Stellenbosch. Rehana left the crowd speechless when she walked down the reception hall, particlarly the groom who looked exceptionally dapper in a navy suit.

Their story

We have been friends for many years; nothing brought us together but destiny, we were just ‘meant to be’. I married my soul mate and best friend.

The moment we walked through the door after mosque and I realised he was no longer my friend, boyfriend or fiancé, he was now my husband, was overwhelming, especially when he put the ring on my finger. It was an emotional and joyous occasion that I will never forget. My mom passed away from cancer about a month before the wedding. She never lived to witness the moment or wedding she helped plan, so I was emotional because my dad had to give his daughter away on his own.

This is a special time in your life, take in every moment and don’t get so deep into the planning that you forget to savour the small moments. If you have your parents with you to witness the day, appreciate it, thank them and be grateful for them.

Having my mom absent was the hardest thing to go through, but my dad was my support and anchor and stood in as if I had both my parents. Take in every moment with your husband as it goes by so quickly. Enjoy the planning and the day to the fullest!
